Big Holiday Weekend

This weekend we went to have breakfast with Santa at Midland Hills again.  It was a lot nicer than last year, when we were braving over a foot of snow to get there.  Last year for some reason, Ryan was totally freaked out by the idea, but this year he was very brave and had no problem snuggling right up to the big guy.  It went a little something like this:
Ryan: Hi!
Santa: Hi there, what would you like for Christmas this year?
Ryan: A bear.
Santa: A polar bear?
Ryan: No, just a regular bear.
Santa: OK, just a regular bear.  Anything else?
Ryan: And a blue thing.
None of us have any clue what that is.  Or why he wants a bear, other than the fact that his bedroom is overrun with them and he thought his bears could use another friend.  Ryan had a great time visiting with Jolly Old St. Nick, having breakfast, and dancing to the kid's band.  The kid loves to move and was bummed when we had to leave to head out to Nana & Papa's house to make Christmas cookies.
As much fun as he had with Santa, he still said his favorite part of the day was making cookies.  The child's sweet tooth is 100% his mother's fault.  We had another marathon day this year making all sorts of different cookies and candies, watching Frosty and Rudolph, and listening to holiday music.  I don't know why I was surprised when Ryan refused to take a nap...with the sugar levels in his system, we're lucky he actually wound down enough by last night to sleep!
