Eight Months Old Today!

This month Ryan is about 19.5 lbs. His height is about 29", so either we were wrong last month or he was too wiggly and we're wrong this month. :)

A little update on 8 month happenings:
* Still playing with a sippy cup, but he seems to prefer drinking out of a regular cup (though that's a little messy).
* Today he crawled for the first time!! He's been rolling around, scooting backwards and belly-dragging for weeks now, but he finally made a crack at crawling. God help us!!!
* Doesn't have any stranger anxiety. He's still really good with all people and animals.
* Loves to blow bubbles, make 'raspberries', and test out his vocal cords. He thinks it's really cool to scream...we don't agree.
* No real words yet and every time I try to show him how to say "mama," he laughs.
* Has started clapping and it's absolutely adorable!
* Still loves his exersaucer. He loves the music it plays and he grooves to the tunes.
* He's done really well cutting down the pacifier use. It still makes the occasional appearance though. I think he's cutting his first tooth on the bottom (though we've been thinking that for awhile now...) and he likes to chew on his nuk.
* He's a pro at eating the puffs now. He really seems to prefer his left-hand, so we'll see if that sticks. He loves to eat/snack. He literally gets giddy when he sees the bottle or when we put him into his high chair. Looks like he's his mother's son!
* He's still got a girlfriend at daycare, although apparently a new girl started a couple of weeks ago and they're both vying for his attention. What a stud! The teacher told me last week that she caught Ryan laying on the floor right next to his girlfriend and they were kissing (seriously, they both had tongues in each other's mouth). Is it any wonder he's sick all the time???? We're in real trouble...I tried to have a talk with him about his behavior, but his attention span was only about 5 seconds so we didn't get very far.
* He's still a really happy, easy-going baby and we're so blessed to have him in our lives!
