Girls Weekend

Thanks to Annemarie for hosting girl's weekend! We had our first girls weekend in 2003 (which is what prompted what has now become the "OC Open"), but we've done a terrible job at making it an annual event. Now that we all have kids, it was more important than ever to get away and have a little girl time.

We headed up to Duluth after work on Friday night and make it up just as it started to get dark.

After a fun night of lots of catching up, we all tried to sleep in, but our 'mom clock' got us all up at 7am. :( Then we were off to the spa!

First up for Rachael, Laura, and myself...group pedicures!

Then we headed down to Canal Park towards a delicious chocolate shop down by the water. Seriously...wine, spa, chocolate...does it get any better than that?

We all had an awesome time and were totally rejuvenated! By Sunday morning, we were ready to head home and cuddle our babies, and of course our husbands too! There was only one low point to the weekend--when we all had full glasses of wine on Friday night to toast and we realized that we've been friends for 17 years. Ouch. I have to say, I'm a pretty lucky girl--I came home to a clean house, a happy family, and Nick had even made a pan of enchiladas and a meatloaf (one for dinner, one to get a jump start on dinner for the week.) Not that it took much convincing, but I definitely think we need to make this an annual event! Thanks girls, love you!
