It's getting harder and harder to take these monthly shots. He's so easily distracted! See proof:

A few of the six-month happenings:
*I'm a little nervous to write this for fear I may be messing with the Sleeping Gods, but I think it's safe to say he's finally sleeping through the night (7:30pm-5am.) Yipeeeee!!!! He's no longer swaddled either.
*He's done very well with baby food. He's still only had the rice cereal (as opposed to oatmeal, etc.), but he's tasted his way through pears, applesauce, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, and is now on bananas. Carrots didn't agree with him all that well, which is fine with me because they stained EVERYTHING they touched! He's so cute when he gets into the high chair: his mouth immediately opens like a little baby bird and you have to be a speed-feeder to keep up with him or he'll get cranky or distracted if he has to wait too long for the next spoonful. So far, Nannie takes the prize for best feeder. When she's in control, there isn't a speck of food that touches anything but the inside of his mouth. On the other hand, mom and dad usually feed him sans clothes because we make such a mess!
*He's begun "chirping." He's testing out his vocal cords and lately makes the highest-pitched sounds. It's pretty cute to watch him try and make a sound and then be so proud at how loud and high it came out, but it's kind of painful to listen to.
*LOVES making raspberries and gets spit everywhere!
*Likes to stand if you're holding him up.
*Is getting very good at sitting without support.
*He works hard now to get a toy if it's just out of reach and looks for it when he drops it. He's working hard at getting better at passing toys from hand to hand.
*EVERYTHING goes in his mouth (including his feet.)
*Has started "creeping" a little, but I definitely wouldn't call it crawling. We're LOVING how stationary he is right now. I'm not really looking forward to crawling. :)
*Still smiley as ever and loves everyone. He thinks the most random things are hilarious and will bust out with the cutest laughter.
*Still spits up! It's getting better, but...still not great. We usually feed him bottles with a beach towel because he's known to turn his head at the last second and spray barf over the ONE spot that isn't protected. Needless to say, the carpet cleaner never gets put away anymore because we use it so often.
*Two weeks ago they moved him to the "big baby" side of the infant room.
:( (I'm sad because I can't believe he's that old!!!) He simply outgrew his bassinet so now he's in the big kid crib and it's actually worked out really well because the cribs are in a separate spot, tucked away from the craziness and it's dark and more quiet (you could never say the infant room ever gets "quiet") so his naps have increased exponentially. We still love his daycare and we're so happy at the friends he's made and the support we get from them.
*Loves all dogs and he and Dixie have formed a special bond. Every time she gets close, he reaches out and pets her. She's figured out that now that he's eating baby food, his hands always taste delicious, so she always gives them 'kisses.' Needless to say, I'm disgusted and I'm constantly washing his hands to get doggy spit off them. Ick!
His 6-month doctor appointment is next week, so we'll see where he's at on height and weight then.
