Well, the long wait is finally over! After going to the hospital for a routine check-up, a surprise induction, 15 hours of labor (3 hours of pushing...), and an emergency c-section, Ryan O'Connell made his entrance into the world at 6:46am on Tuesday, December 2nd weighing in at 8 lb 7.5 oz (the doctors were taking bets that he might be over 10 lbs when he came out...that's reassuring as you're strapped to the table), and measuring 20.5 inches long. The docs thought Mom and Baby had infections because the labor had lasted so long, so little Ryan had to spend his first few days of life in the NICU at Children's. He was a trooper though, and in no time we were all on our way home to start our life as a family. Here are some pictures from our first weekend home.

Leaving the hospital.

Thanks Auntie Leanne, Uncle Joey, and Uncle Scottie for my saw-eet hat and mittens!

Oh, it's so hard to keep my eyes open!
